For all of us sustainable means many things but we feel an important factor is the life of a product. As our Grandparents taught us if we take care of things then they should last! All our products are selected with that in mind; they are built to last. They may cost a little more but once bought then they should last for many years, if not a lifetime! A benefit to your pocket, but also the planet.
If you find anything you disagree with or want to know more about then, please, just ask, this is an ongoing work in progress! Call us on 01993 867075 or email [email protected]. We care!
Elephants could be extinct in the wild within 30 years - Be Part of Saving Them!
Elephant Parade is a social enterprise and runs the worlds largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues. Created by artists and celebrities, each Elephant Parade statue is a unique art piece. The life-size, baby elephant statues are exhibited in international cities and raise awareness for the need of elephant conservation. Limited edition, handcrafted replicas and a select range of products are created from the exhibition elephants. 20% of Elephant Parade net profits are donated to elephant welfare and conservation projects.
Elephant Parade was founded by father and son Marc and Mike Spits in 2006. Whilst on holiday in Thailand, Marc met a baby elephant named Mosha, who had lost part of her leg after stepping on a landmine. Mosha inspired Marc and Mike to create Elephant Parade.
Mosha was just 7 months old when she suffered a landmine injury whilst walking near the Burmese border. This severe injury led to the loss of her leg under her knee which, unfortunately, puts extreme strain on the other three limbs and her spine as she continues to grow.
With the help of the prosthetic leg, she is able to walk, but requires a new mould every year that she grows. Elephants grow every year up to 20 years of age. These new fittings are a large effort and expense as they require continued pioneering in a new area of elephant and veterinary medicine. Given the extent of her injury, Mosha will remain at FAE Elephant Hospital as a permanent resident
