The Mia collection is the most environmentally friendly and sustainable glass range around. All the items are individually mouthblown and handmade from collecting and recycling locally sourced clear jars and bottles that are then sorted, crushed and heated in the furnace until molten.
The extremely skilled glassblower then gathers, shapes and makes impressions in the glass that form what is known as the partial optic texture which gives a slightly fluted texture with a soft, refreshing green tint. The item is then blown into a wooden mould to create the end product. Natural air bubbles will always occur as part of this 100% recycled and handmade process and each one is different and therefore effectively unique.
A larger curved narrowing top vase or lantern that will bring style to your home and complement any flower arrangement indoors or out. As the image shows great to use as a votive with smaller style candles.
Each Mia product is then boxed in recycable packaging made from recycled card and printed with organic inks.

For all of us sustainable means many things but we feel an important factor is the life of a product. As our Grandparents taught us if we take care of things then they should last! All our products are selected with that in mind; they are built to last. They may cost a little more but once bought then they should last for many years, if not a lifetime! A benefit to your pocket, but also the planet.
If you find anything you disagree with or want to know more about then, please, just ask, this is an ongoing work in progress! Call us on 01993 867075 or email [email protected]. We care!
LSA are conscious of their responsibility to reduce their environmental impact. Their intention is to create useful, relevant products which endure in quality and style. Their focus includes investment in solutions which address environmental issues and a consciousness of what they create and how.
In short LSA design for the present, using techniques from the past, without compromising the future.
They work ethically and transparently with their team and partners to collectively explore more sustainable practices. Progress not perfection: sustainability is a complex issue with many challenges but they are committed to minimising their environmental, social and economic impact.
By designing lasting, considered products LSA encourage us to make sustainable choices: buying less and owning for longer. A responsible approach to design which aims to create something of value.
Seeking to present positive change through design, they work with partners whose own goals reflect and align with those of LSA. Supporting their global mission to build relationships between people and the natural world, for example LSA recently collaborated with the Eden Project to create the Canopy collection of handmade, recycled glass products. Centred around the concepts of hydration and propagation Canopy addresses environmental concerns around single-use plastics, water conservation and plant preservation.
Glass as a material is infinitely recyclable. LSA also use discarded waste material in their recycled glass collections, transforming bottles and jars into useful products.
All wood used by LSA is responsibly-sourced and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) - an international non-profit organisation which verifies forests to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards.
